SERIES BACKGROUND:
The Further Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes was produced by Jim French and was concerned with additional adventures of the world's first and mo st famous consulting de tective. In the early 1990's, Jim French had attempted to write a Sherlock Holmes script to air on The KIRO Mystery Playhouse, but did not complete it. Jim he'd written himself into a corner and set it aside so he could work on scrip ts forThe Adventures of Harry Nile and other projects.
unfinished script, read it, and encouraged him to complete it.Lawrence talked
to a mutual friend who knew how to, contact the American lawyer who re presented the Doyle estate. Jim spoke with the lawyer, sent him samples of his work, and was granted a franchise to write and produce original radi o dramas using the characters Sir Arthur Conan Doyle had created.Page 2 of 14 April 30, 2019

The KIRO Mystery Playhouse on KIRO (episodes 001-008.)SERIES DESCRIPTION:
As the series title implies, these adventures are not dramatizations of the origi nal Sherlock Holmes stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. They are
rather, pastiches, completely new adventures that remain faithful to the spirit, style, and tone of the original stories. Even Holmes' addiction to coca ine was alluded to in "The Bil lingsgate Horror" episode. Holmes admits, "My mind needs a st imulant, other than the kind I used to keep in my drawer."Two episodes of this series are based on Conan Doyle short stories: "The Adventure of the Parisian Assassin" adapted from "The Lost Special"
and "The Lady Sannox Investigation" adapted as "The Case Of Lady Sannox." Most of Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson literature are now in the public domain, however, Jim French has gone to the effort of maki ng an arrangement with t he estate of Dame Jean Conan Doyle for the use of these and ot h er characters in his radio dramatizations. The Dr. Watson character, as played by Lawrence Albert, is no bumbler; he is Holmes' trusted and respected friend, associate, and confidant. Wats on often discovers valuable clues that aid in the solving of thei r cases. Jim French is especially proud of the salute given his series by the BBC 's "Radio 4" programme, which played an excerpt of one of his shows to thei r listeners in England, commenting with some surprise that all the actors wereAmericans, and cal
l ing it "one of the best radio dramas currently available in the English language." CREW:Creator:
