Difference between biophysics and molecular biology

Molecular biology was first described as an approach focused on the underpinnings of biological phenomena—uncovering the structures of biological molecules as well as their interactions, and how these interactions explain observations of classical biology. The term molecular biology was first used in 1945 by physicist William Astbury.

As the name biophysics implies, biology and physics are involved.
In biophysics, both disciplines are included at equal proportions (Fig. 1.1 ).
In general, the studies in biology are about life at all levels and are broadly ranged with a great diversity and maximum complexity.

Molecular biophysics investigates biological questions similar those in biochemistry and molecular biology.
The difference is that molecular biophysics tries to get more quantitative results and searches for physical substantiation of the observed biomolecular phenomena.
