  • CodeBlocks is an open-source, cross-platform (Windows, Linux, MacOS), and free C/C++ IDE .
It supports many compilers, such as GNU GCC (MinGW and Cygwin) and MS Visual C++.
It supports interactive debugging (via GNU GDB or MS CDB).
  • Is Code: :Blocks (programming) safe to download? This is like asking whether Firefox is safe to download.
Yes, it is, if you download it from an official build for your platform.
Judging whether the site you are getting a program from is a safe source isn't merely a technical skill.
  • Run the downloaded installer.

Verify the Compiler's and Debugger's Path: (For CodeBlocks 13.12 For Windows) Goto "Settings" menu ⇒ "Compiler" ⇒ In "Selected Compiler", choose "GNU GCC Compiler" ⇒ Select tab "Toolchain Executables" ⇒ Check the "Compiler's Installation Directory".
Apr 21, 2017Hi all, I am new to Code Blocks but not to FORTRAN. I am writing a CODE in FORTRAN but when I press Build and Run button,

Does Codeblocks have C compiler?

CodeBlocks is available in two variant - with and without compiler.
For Windows it comes with MinGW C compiler suite.
MinGW C compiler is a windows variant of GCC C compiler.
Download the latest build of CodeBlocks with C compiler from its official website.
Note:

  • You must download the CodeBlocks with MinGW setup executable file.
  • How do I auto detect a GNU GCC compiler?

Then run Code::Blocks go to Settings->Compiler Setting->Toolchain executables and press Auto-Detect .If auto detect doesn't work include:

  • the path yourself (find where you installed MinGW).Also make sure that in Project-> Build options you have selected the GNU GCC Compiler Did you restart the Code::Blocks after detecting? .
  • Why is Codeblocks not working?

Any input? CodeBlocks is an IDE, not a compiler.
It could well be configured to use this "general 'gcc' compiler", and the problem might lie in an incorrect invocation of "gcc in a unix enviroment".
Or, maybe the errors are due to something platform specific, e.g., you are using CodeBlocks on Windows, and then are using Windows specific stuff.
