What are the independent variables in conflict management?

The key independent variables are the application of mediation and the deployment of a peacekeeping mission to a particular conflict.
Mediation is coded using information from Civil War Mediation data ( DeRouen, Bercovitch & Pospieszna, 2011) and International Conflict Management data ( Bercovitch, Anagnoson & Wille, 1991 ).
