License under copyright act

The owner of copyright may grant a license to do any of the act in respect of which he has an exclusive right to do.
The license can be classified into following categories:

It includes ,the Copyright Act of 1976 and all subsequent amendments to copyright law; the Semiconductor Chip Protection Act of 1984, as amended; and the Vessel Hull Design Protection Act, as amended.
The Copyright Office is responsible for registering intellectual property claims under all three.

Under Section 203 of the Copyright Act, authors or those who inherit their rights are permitted to terminate grants of copyright licenses that are made on or after January 1978 if certain conditions are met, except in the case of works for hire.
