Corporate law vs civil law

The civil law system is based on English common law, which arose from England.
The Roman law was essentially a secondary source that only applied to issues that needed to be addressed within local customs and local laws.
The local law was also heavily influenced by Roman law (the language is still a popular European legal tradition ).

Furthermore, civil law systems are more likely to have more detailed procedural rules than criminal and administrative law systems.
