To pass the examination candidates are expected to identify the relevant issues, select and identify the material rules of law including:

  • those in the Criminal Code of Canada and the relevant case law as understood in Canada
  • and explain how the law applies on each of the relevant issues

    How do I study for the NCA online exams?

    NCA applicants study on their own for the NCA exams (i.e. without help from the NCA).
    You are also responsible for getting your own study materials and developing your strategy for studying.

    How many hours does the NCA exam take?

    The NCA allows three (3) hours in total for completion of each exam.
    NCA exams are open-book.
