What grades do you need to be a dentist in the UK?
A minimum of 3 A levels at grade ABB or above including Chemistry and Biology.
A minimum of 7 GCSEs at grade B/grade 6 or above including Maths, English Language and a Science subject.
Vocational/Applied GCSEs or A levels are not accepted..

Due to the popularity of Dentistry nearly all dental schools and universities offering Dentistry require AAA grades from potential students.

What GCSEs do you need for Dental Surgery?

University of Birmingham – BDS Dental Surgery: AAA, including A-levels in chemistry and biology and GCSE A*/8 in biology and chemistry and A/7 in mathematics and English language

University of Cardiff – BDS Dental Surgery: AAA, including biology and chemistry, as well as English language or Welsh language at GCSE grade B/6 or an equivalent

What grades do you need to become a dentist?

The expected grade standards for dentistry are broadly higher than most subjects, as is true for all medicine degrees

A levels – Entry requirements range from BBB to AAA, with the universities and colleges most commonly asking for AAA

The minimum is a set of grades AAA, with some universities requiring one or two A* grades. Not only are A levels required, but dental schools will also look at GCSE grades, in particular evidence of Grade 8 or 9 (A*) in biology and chemistry, as well as a minimum of Grade 7 (A) in GCSE Maths and GCSE English Language.
