What is abc learning design

  • What are the ABC learning activities types?

Students and non-teaching staff also find the learning types intuitive and easy to use and can produce innovative and creative storyboards with no prior experience of learning design.
The six learning types are: Acquisition (i.e.to read/watch/listen), Investigation, Practice, Discussion, Collaboration and Production..

  • What is the ABC method of learning?

    The ABC approach to behaviour
ABC stands for antecedent (A), behaviour (B) and consequence (C).
It is an observation tool that teachers can use to analyse what happened before, during and after a behaviour1..

  • What is the ABC of curriculum design?

ABC curriculum design (Active, Blended, Connected) - Technology Enhanced Learning..

  • A learning design is the application of a pedagogical model for a specific learning objective, target group, and a specific context or knowledge domain.
The learning design specifies the teaching-learning process.

ABC Learning Design is an effective and engaging hands-on 90-minute workshop where academic teams work together to create a visual 'storyboard' outlining the type and sequence of learning activities (both online and offline) required to meet a course's learning outcomes.
Developed by Clive Young and Nataša Perović for University College London (UCL), ABC Learning Design is a high-energy, collaborative workshop to engage academic teams in order to develop, design or redesign online courses or programs.

What is 'ABC' & how does it work?

‘ABC’ is the result, a high-energy hands-on workshop

In just 90 minutes teaching teams work together to create a visual ‘storyboard’

The storyboard is made up of pre-printed cards representing the type and sequence of learning activities (both online and offline) required to meet the module or programme learning outcomes

What is ABC LD pedagogy?

G1 discusses the underlying pedagogy of ABC LD, namely Professor Diana Laurillard’s concept of ‘learning types’, itself derived from her ‘Conversational Framework’ model of adult learning ( Laurillard 2002 )

This has proved a remarkably robust and accessible route into teaching and learning discussion and reflection

ABC Learning Design a collaborative programme and module design method created at University College London ( UCL) in 2015 and now used widely across the sector to help develop new programmes and review existing provision

ABC learning design is UCL’s widely used ‘sprint’ method to help busy university and college teachers review and redesign their courses for blended modes. Originally run as face-to-face workshops, in just 90 minutes teaching teams work together to create a visual ‘storyboard’ of activities representing the student journey. The ABC Learning Design method is based on the six learning types, developed by Professor Diana Laurillard. It offers an intuitive way for academic colleagues and subject matter experts to design a learner journey in a clear, innovative and collaborative way.ABC Learning Design a collaborative programme and module design method created at University College London (UCL) in 2015 and now used widely across the sector to help develop new programmes and review existing provision.A rena B lended C urriculum (ABC) is a learning design methodology underpinned by Prof Diana Laurillard’s 6 learning types which run as a high-energy, hands-on curriculum design workshop. Initialism mnemonics

ABC and its variations are initialism mnemonics for essential steps used by both medical professionals and lay persons when dealing with a patient.
In its original form it stands for Airway, Breathing, and Circulation.
The protocol was originally developed as a memory aid for rescuers performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and the most widely known use of the initialism is in the care of the unconscious or unresponsive patient, although it is also used as a reminder of the priorities for assessment and treatment of patients in many acute medical and trauma situations, from first-aid to hospital medical treatment.
Airway, breathing, and circulation are all vital for life, and each is required, in that order, for the next to be effective.
Since its development, the mnemonic has been extended and modified to fit the different areas in which it is used, with different versions changing the meaning of letters or adding other letters.
