PS Accountancy Business Finance
I am hoping to pursue a degree in the areas of Accountancy, Business and Finance for a number of reasons. I
have always enjoyed the numerical side of maths using formula and algorithms. I am also very keen to be a
success in life. I believe I have a go-getting personality and would have the whole package to do well in a
views. I always enjoy embracing new concepts and ideas and try not to start any endeavor without prejudice or
preconceptions.While in year 10, I undertook work experience in a local car insurance business where I was involved in customer
relations and on a basic, but useful level about the business, which piqued my interest. My father is a sales
executive and I am aware that as well as financial skills you also require good communication skills to succeed
and grow a business.In light of the Brexit vote I have been more interested in the impact of politics on business and the economy. Last
week in the news I was very interested to read that unemployment is at its lowest since 1975 which thus far goes
against the predicted impact, although we have a long way to go to see the overall impact and I am aware that
these statistics may be more around part-time worjk than full-time. I am also becoming aware that political
rumours can have an impact on the stock market and the economy.At the weekend I work in an independent bar and again am very interested in the business and finance side of
things. I am very aware that customer service is critical in a business survival especially with social media. A
poor review can have a devastating impact on an independent business. With this in mind I have started reading
Freakanomics by xxxxxxxxx which discusses xxxxxxxxxxx.My career goal would be to own my own business. I am very interested in the growing street food scene and
could potentially go down this route. However, I am aware that I need to gain business and finance knowledge
and experience first.I am a very happy, sociable and outgoing individual who always gives 100% to any task in hand. As an example, I
have recently single handedly organized a group of 13 to go on holiday to Croatia. It involved a lot of organizing
finances for accommodation, transfers and plane tickets, which I organized on an Excel spreadsheet. I also had
to liaise with various companies and everything went smoothly. I was very interested in Croatia as an up and
coming travel destination in light of their previous political and financial turmoil. It will be interesting to see if as
they become more popular the prices rise especially in light of certain destinations like Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia
being less desirable these days.I have always valued and enjoyed extra-curricular activities. I completed a Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. I
I believe that being part of a football team has given me a good team player ethic, which can be shown when
working and playing. I have also learnt to deal with difficult people with good grace and also can bounce back
after knock backs. I would be very interested in joining the University football team and would throw myself into
being a keen asset to the university.I am committed, motivated and ready for hard-work and further study. I hope you will consider me as a candidate

PS Anthropology
Issues' increased my desire to understand humanity and the complexities within the modern and pre-modern
world on a macro and micro level. Through the study of Anthropology, I will not only gain understanding of the
attributes of being human through field work and scientific and theoretical enquiry, but I will also develop
transferable skills which I can use outside of university. I hope it will challenge any pre-conceived notions I may
have and expand my world view for the rest of my life.After going to an all girls Catholic school in London and then moving to a mixed gender school in East Sussex not
only exposed me to a wider diversity of people, it also made me question the effect of gender and religion on
society. I began to reflect on this at college as an active participant debates and discussions in the feminist
which elucidated the large global issues of gender in society. Furthermore, I recently attended a lecture called
living in Britain. I was fascinated as to how close anthropological study and fieldwork provide such insight about
its subjects, in this case a fast growing Islamic group whose female voices are largely silenced.My A-levels, really affirmed my interest and growing curiosity in anthropology. As part of my Classics A-level
anthropologist. His close study of the Persians and the Greeks explored how humans define themselves through
their differences and their race, as this gives them a sense of belonging. In English Literature I studied the poetry
of TS Elliot and Thomas Hardy. Both poets explore the disillusionment and depression in Britain after WW2, and
modernism and mass production, as it separated humans from nature and people lost their sense of community.

interpretations of the world throughout the centuries through visual and material expression, and led me to
wonder why material culture is so important to humans. Peter Doig is the artist who inspired my final piece; he
investigated the significance of place and landscapes to humans, and how it shapes their identity.Studying English Literature at A-level taught me to write well structured, articulate, and correctly referenced
essays. The coursework included an independent dissertation, including research on a text, developing
comparative and evaluative skills, structuring my own time and meeting set deadlines. I chose to focus the
