"It's time dear!" says his mother. "I have made you a nice breakfast,

I'm in the kitchen."

Sami looks at himself in the wardrobe mirror. He wonders how the others will be dressed. Last night, he spent a long time preparing his clothes. He opens the wardrobe, takes his black trainers and goes out of his room, carrying his trainers. In the dark corridor, he can smell nice things. When he goes into the kitchen, he can see, on the table, delicious cakes made with flour and eggs, that are still warm, a big bowl of hot chocolate and a beautiful dish of fruit with pineapple, bananas and apples.

"Hurry up dear, it's time to go" says his mother. "Are you sure you'd prefer to go on your own? Do you remember the way?" "Yes, don't worry. What can happen? And anyway, I'll have to get used to it, it will be like that every day." His mother doesn't answer and smiles but she is worried. She kisses her son and strokes his hair. He hates it when she does that but she can't help herself. Sami would like to take some of the cakes in his schoolbag, because he is always hungry around ten o'clock. He doesn't know if it's allowed in his new school so he decides not to take any. Then, he puts his trainers on and goes off down the stairs of the apartment block. "Sami!" shouts his mother running down the stairs after him with her son's cap in her hands. "Your cap! You forgot your cap!"

"My green cap! It's my first day in this school and I almost left without my lucky cap!"
