Welcome to Camp Whispering Pines Girl Scout camp. For the safety and consideration for your family and girls at camp we ask that you read and abide by the guidelines contained in this brochure.

General Rules

Possession of alcoholic beverages, weapons, and

illegal drugs is forbidden and will result in dismissal from camp.

There is NO SMOKING on GSSJC Camp properties.

Fireworks are not allowed.

Closed-toed shoes and socks that cover the ankle

should be worn at all times. Please park in the designated parking area, vehicles are not allowed in the units. Special arrangements may be made in advance with the camp registrar for people with special needs.

Pets are not allowed.

Check in

Upon arrival, check in with

property manager or reserve ranger. Please turn in a complete list of people in your party in case of an emergency. Schedule a checkout time with the property manager or reserve ranger to have your unit checked prior to departure. All campers must be out of camp by 5 p.m. on the last day of your stay. 1

Clean Up/Checking Out

Trash bags and cleaning supplies (i.e. disinfectant / pine cleaner, soap, rubber gloves, paper towels, toilet paper, nonabrasive cleanser and pad for cleaning showers), are not provided. Please bring lawn size trash bags to use in all trash receptacles. Trash needs to be taken to central dumpster nightly and as needed to keep raccoons and other animals out of trash.

Leave no trace; pick up any litter and dispose of

properly.

Cabin floors must be swept out. Canvas window

coverings closed and secured. Straighten beds and cabinets. Bathrooms/latrines cleaned and disinfected. Only use disinfectant on floors in latrines, not in the holes. The seat may be sponged off with disinfectant. The small amount of cleaning solution may be emptied into the latrine. Keep lids down and door closed. Beds straightened or mattresses returned to storage area. Cooking equipment washed, dried, properly stored, and inventoried. When you have all personal belongings and equipment packed and ready to leave camp, the property manager or reserve ranger will inspect your campsite to ensure clean up procedures have been followed before you leave. 6
