Clarification: Two

To all Bidder who acquired the bidding document from AU Website Following the request for clarification from number of bidders regarding the Bidding document captioned above, the Africa Union Commission would like to respond as follows:

Question #1:

Provide dimensions of the mobile kitchen- is it a 20FT or 40FT construction?

Answer:

40FT

Question #2:

Advise if supplier can quote for a containerised option with a stainless steel finish? If other options preferred, kindly provide more details. A containerised option is recommended as it is the most feasible hard top unit for military use due to its excellent durability, security and strength and flexibility on movement and positioning.

Answer:

Supplier should quote with what they can provide and recommend.

Question #3:

Confirm exact quantity required?

Answer:

Four (4)

Question #4:

Confirm if an air condition is required? We propose at least 2 x 18000BTU air condition units.

Answer:

For container type yes but we are not looking for container kitchen and as such, we do not need an AC.

Question #5:

Confirm what is TFK 250-1000 or equivalent

Answer:

It is the model of military mobile kitchen. Bidders can quote equivalent model or brand.

Question #6:

Can supplier provide electrical powered equipment? Or is only diesel oil/natural gas stoves preferred?

Answer:

Both options are good. Supplier can provide any of the options available. But natural gas stoves are preferred.

Question #7:

Is the supplier to recommend the equipment for boiling/toasting and frying

Answer:

The supplier can recommend what is best for the purpose when bidding for what is available or equivalent

Question #8:

kitchen? E.g 4 plate cooker with oven (electrical/natural gas) with hood, fridge, freezer, high pressured gas burner, dishwasher, water heater, applicable sorting stainless counter tops and shelving.

Answer:

Yes. Supplier have the right to propose the best options and equipment to accompany the kitchen when needed. However, the kitchen is not a container type but supplier can quote for any equivalent materials to suit the bid.

Question #9:

Is the supplier to provide all necessary cutlery and cooking utensils? Kindly provide what utensils and cutlery will be required at a minimum

Answer:

Please provide what you have available in the bid.

Question #10:

Is the unit to be carried on a trailer to make it mobile or is it to be positioned in one place? If it

is to be carried on a trailer, provide more details.

Answer:

Please refer 5.

Question #11:

Confirm if prices are supposed to be exclusive of all duties, taxes and VAT

Answer:

The AU is exempted from paying any taxes in Africa.

Question #12:

Will the client offer offloading at site?

Answer:

Supplier.

Question #13:

As published in the Clarification "One", accessible on the AU Website the answer to Question #5: states Latest Delivery Date is 60 days. We cannot find the corresponding delivery period stated in the Bid document. Please state the reference Please confirm that delivery date refers to days after reception of contract? If 60 days cannot be met, is there a chance to still bid with the indicated delivery time? If so, which document has to be used to state individual delivery time? ITB clause 26.5 b) states that delivery period is being used as one evaluation criteria. Please state how a longer delivery period will reflect on the evaluation.

Answer:

Yes, the specific delivery date is indicated in the clarification. Please note that the delivery

dates referees to the days after signing of contract. No credit will be given to earlier deliveries,
