The Political History PhD Network

Initiated after the launch of the Association for Political History in September 2014, the Political

History PhD Network brings together PhD candidates working on political history. In order to

strengthen good practices of international cooperation and research, it focuses on young historians who are in the process of writing their doctoral dissertation. The Political History PhD Network issues a monthly newsletter, manages a LinkedIn-group, and organizes a yearly PhD workshop. As such the network offers an easy-accessible platform which will create a framework for future academic cooperation.

The Association for Political History

The Association for Political History (APH) has been created in September 2014 for promoting

Political History broadly defined as History of Institutions, Parties, Public policies, History of Ideas or

Political Cultures and behaviors.

The APH welcomes historians working from different perspectives including the most recent and innovative ones such as transnational history. One of the main goals of the APH is to strengthen international cooperation in the field of education and research, thus promoting the quality of research. The Centre d'Histoire de Sciences Po

Headed by Marc Lazar, the CHSP exists since late 2004. The Center is the Fondation Nationale des

Sciences Politiques contemporary history research laboratory. The Center's research actiǀities are in

line with the research activities of the Center for Twentieth-Century European History, founded in 1984.

Oǀer the years the laboratory's researches haǀe focused on some strong lines: 1) States, institutions,

societies; 2) Wars, conflicts, violence: norms and transgressions, 19th-20th centuries; 3) Arts,

knowledge and culture; 4) From local to global: international history and its scales. The Center also includes a Center for Contemporary History Archives, conserving and classifying about 100 collections of private archives. The Centre d'Histoire publishes an online peer-reviewed journal, Histoire@politique. Politique, culture, société (http://www.histoire-politique.fr).
