Disciplines that we cannot welcome into the program: swinging aerials, German wheel, cyr wheel, acrobatic bike, slack wire The training is open to everyone, French or foreigners, between the ages of 17 and 22 years old on October 1st, 2020. It is not required to have obtained the Baccalaureat. The first phase of the auditions will consist of one day the 23, 24, or 25th of June 2020.
The second phase of the auditions will be in the form of a two-day workshop Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th of June 2020. The Circus School of Lyon provides a preparatory training for the superior schools in the circus arts, accredited and funded by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alps region and the DRAC

Auvergne Ȃ Rhône-Alpes.

What the school expects:

To commit to attend auditions for the superior schools

To follow the two-year training program

To have an interest in collective, creative, and experimental work

To have confidence in the educational framework

Process of the auditions :

1 /Selection from application. The deadline to apply is Monday March 30th, 2020

inclusive. 2/ Auditions in two stages: Day one of auditions: The morning, group workshops are proposed: a dance workshop, acrobatics/handstands, and physical preparation. The afternoon is focused on an acting workshop, presenting an act (3 minutes), and individual interviews. During the acting workshop, the team evaluates the capacity to act, to follow directions, and to fully invest oneself onstage. The presentation of a number permits the evaluation of stage presence, respect of the three-minute restriction. It is to observe the use of space, and the pace of your creative work. After the presentation of a number, we give you a moment to present certain technical elements that you did not necessarily present during the three minutes. The individual interview is decisive, as it is at this moment that the team can ask about the motivations of the candidate, their prior training and experience, and their desire to attend a superior school. Our criteria are as much based on technical ability, as they are on artistic personality as well as physical potential. A two-day workshop: During these two days of auditions, physical preparation workshops and research will be proposed.
