Purpose

Oracle Cloud Marketplace enables you to provision instances rapidly on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). After you have created a virtual machine instance, you can log into and use Primavera Portfolio Management on the virtual machine. Use this document to deploy Primavera Portfolio Management environment in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure with an Oracle 19c database using a stacked configuration. A stacked environment includes a virtual machine for the Primavera Portfolio Management application and a separate virtual machine for the Oracle database. This process should be carried out by someone familiar with database administration.

Before You Begin

This deployment is Bring Your Own License (BYOL). You need a license for both Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management and Oracle Database 19. You can find more information about BYOL on the Cloud Infrastructure Pricing (https://www.oracle.com/cloud/pricing/) page.

Prerequisites

The following are necessary in order to setup Primavera Portfolio Management in Oracle Cloud

Marketplace.

Verify Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Accounts

This documentation assumes you have obtained an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure account. If not, consult the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Documentation See Request and Manage Free Oracle Cloud Promotions

Verify Oracle Cloud Account Credentials

About your Oracle Cloud Compute account.

See Signing in to the Console

(https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/GSG/Tasks/signingin.htm) in the Oracle Cloud

Infrastructure documentation.

SSH Key Pairs

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Oracle Database Virtual Machine uses Linux as its operating system and authentication requires a SSH public key. Create a secure shell (SSH) key pair so that you can access the compute instances in your

Oracle Database Server domains.

A key pair consists of a public key and a corresponding private key. When you create a domain using Oracle WebLogic Server for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you specify the public key. You then access the compute instances from an SSH client using the private key.

See Creating a Key Pair

(https://docs.oracle.com/en-us/iaas/Content/Compute/Tasks/managingkeypairs.htm) in the

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure documentation.

Bastion

Connect to bastion only to access the instances of private subnet. Only required when deploying the application on a private subnet.

Load Balancer

Only required when deploying the application on a private subnet.

Getting Started with Load Balancing

Note: In Load Balancing, private IPs should be added along with

Listener port.

Data If you intend to import your existing Primavera Portfolio Management database, you must create a database dump (.dmp) of your Primavera Portfolio Management database.

Note: Before you provision an instance, you can estimate the cost of the resources and services to use in your instance. See Oracle Cloud Cost Estimator

Security

Security in the cloud is a shared responsibility between you and Oracle. In a shared, multitenant compute environment, Oracle is responsible for the security of the underlying cloud infrastructure (such as data center facilities, hardware, and software) and you are responsible for securing your workloads and configuring your services (such as compute, network, storage, and database) securely. See Shared Security Model in the Security checklist for Oracle Cloud

Infrastructure.

The following principles are fundamental to using any application securely: Keep patches up-to-date. This includes all product patches and Operating System patches. Limit privileges as much as possible. Users should be given only the access necessary to perform their work. User privileges should be reviewed periodically to determine relevance to current work requirements. Monitor system activity. Establish who should access which system components, and how often, and monitor those components. To understand about more security services available in Oracle cloud Infrastructure see Security Services in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure documentation. Use secure best practices. For more information, see Security Best Practices in the Oracle

Cloud Infrastructure documentation.

Keep up-to-date on security information. Oracle regularly issues security-related patch updates and security alerts. Install all security patches as soon as possible. See the Critical

Patch Updates and Security Alerts website.

If you're creating a Linux instance, then try to determine how many users you expect to access the instance and plan for a separate SSH key pair for each user. Keep your SSH keys secure. Establish policies to ensure that the keys aren't lost or compromised when employees leave the organization or move to other departments. If you lose your private key, then you can't access your instances. For business continuity, ensure that the SSH keys of at least two IT system administrators are added to your instances. If you need to edit the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file of a user on your instance, then before you make any changes to the file, start a second ssh session and ensure that it remains connected while you edit the authorized_keys file. This second ssh session serves as a backup. If the authorized_keys file gets corrupted or you inadvertently make changes that result in your getting locked out of the instance, then you can use the backup ssh session to fix or revert the changes. Before closing the backup ssh session, test the changes you made in the authorized_keys file by logging in with the new or updated

SSH key.

Ensure instance isolation by creating security lists and adding instances to the appropriate security lists. Instances within a security list can inter-communicate freely over any protocol. Create Your Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management Environment on Oracle Cloud Marketplace 9 To monitor network traffic on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, enable VCN flow logs. For more information, see VCN Flow Logs in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure documentation. To know more about the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Service Level Agreement (SLA) refer the Pillar Document. For OPPM product related security configurations, please refer the Primavera Portfolio

Management Security Guide.
