(RDA) Coach; describe and apply the Code of Ethics for RDA people relevant for coaching riders with a disability; and work professionally and ethically as a RDA Coach.

1 Legislation and codes relevant to this unit standard include but are not limited to:

Animal Welfare Act 1999;

Health and Disability Commissioner Act 1994;

Health and Safety at Work Act 2015;

Privacy Act 2020;

Vulnerable Children's Act 2017;

Code of Ethics for RDA People;

Health and Disability Commissioner (Code of Health and Disability Services

Consumers' Rights) Regulations 1996;

Code of Welfare: Horses and Donkeys 2018;

and any subsequent amendments.

2 Definitions

New Zealand Riding for the Disabled (NZRDA) is the parent body of riding for the disabled. All riding for disabled affiliated groups are referred to as Riding for the

Disabled (RDA).

NZRDA standards and Code of Ethics for RDA People refer to policies and procedures set by the NZRDA which are available on the Group Resource Library, NZRDA The Stable https://thestable.rda.org.nz/s/. NZRDA standards reflect current legislation.

evidence must be presented in accordance with NZRDA standards.

Outcome 1

Describe professional and ethical behaviour as a RDA Coach.

Performance criteria

1.1 Describe professional behaviour according to relevant legislation.

Range Health and Disability Commissioner Act 1994, Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights, Privacy Act 1993,

Vulnerable Children Act 2014.

1.2 Describe ethical behaviour in a RDA context.

Outcome 2

Describe and apply the Code of Ethics for RDA people relevant for coaching riders with a disability.

Performance criteria

2.1 Describe the Code of Ethics for RDA people in terms of coaching riders with a

disability.

2.2 Apply the Code of Ethics for RDA people in terms of coaching riders with a

disability.

Outcome 3

Work professionally and ethically as a RDA Coach.

Performance criteria

3.1 Demonstrate professional behaviour and maintain professional boundaries

during coaching activities.

3.2 Demonstrate ethical behaviour and maintain ethical boundaries during coaching

activities.

3.3 Describe the procedures for managing ethical issues that may arise during

coaching activities.
