Mark has a 29

year career in the high tech industry, including 10 years in management consulting with companies like Accenture and Deloitte, and 15 years of senior executive experience in the enterprise software space. He was a global executive at IBM Software Group for six and a half years and ran their $1.4B Communications Sector business between 2005 and 2008. Mark also has more than 25 years of Faculty experienc e at the University of Waterloo where he is currently full time faculty for Strategy, High Tech Entrepreneurship and International Business for the School of Accounting and Finance . He has also taught for the Faculty of Mathematics, the School of Computer Science, the Arts

Business Program, and the

Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business.

He has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo (1989) and an MBA from the Kellogg-

Schulich global executive program (2011).

Lead the teaching and delivery of the School"s upper year courses in Strategy and International Business

Co-Faculty Advisor for the University of Waterloo Student Venture Fund Lead Faculty Advisor for Strategy Case Competitions and the ACE student run consulting team Industry Champion for Business & Technology Programs Championed the proposal of a new Executive Masters Program in Business & Technology Taught both Entrepreneurial Strategy (BET 610) and Leadership (BET600) for the Masters of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET) program in 2008 an d 2009.

Developed the University"s first course in International Business for the School of Accounting and the Arts

Business Program and grew enrollment from an initial class of 35 students in 2009 to more than 500 today.

Developed Waterloo"s 4

th year course in High Tech Entrepreneurship for the Math Faculty (MTHEL400/COMM400), currently in its 22 nd year of offering for 2018 and delivered to more than 750 students to date. Guest entrepreneurs have included founding CEO"s from RIM, Janna Systems, Sandvine, OpenText, Solect, DWL Software, PNO Consulting, DaVinci, Guestlogix, and many others.

Primary responsibility for managing and delivering Waterloo"s core third year Information Systems course

(CS330) to classes of 100 -150 students over a ten year period from 1995 to 2004 (more than 4000 students taught in total), including a tailored version for the School of Accounting and Finance. Developed and taught Waterloo"s fourth year course in Large Scale Systems Transformation (CS498N) as a joint effort between Andersen Consulting and the

University of Waterloo in 1992 and 1993.
