6 R ichard "e King" Petty will be shaking hands and sign ing autographs in CarolineCounty at the upcoming,
"ird Annual Ridgely Pharmacy CarShow." Sponsored by Ridgely Pharmacy,
the event is expected to raise $25,000 for the Petty Family Foundation, which uses the money to fund worthy causes such as Victory Junction Camp, Folds of Honor, and e Wounded WarriorProject. Uniquely built to help, the Petty
Family Foundation will receive and
appropriately distribute every penny raised, serving great charities to the full est extent. Many of the worthiest among us will be helped by this exceptional event.Free to the public, the event will be held
at 7 West Belle Street in Ridgely, on Oc tober 20 th from 9 AM to 4 PM. Mr. Petty is expected to be at the event from 12:30 to 2 PM. In the event of rain, the show will be postponed until October 27 th but, unfortunately, Mr. Petty will not be available on the 27 th . Complete details are available at ridgelycarshow.com.So how does something like this get
started, and how does Caroline get a vis-it from a racing legend? It starts with a great idea or dream. Add some passion and organizational skill, some very special people, and months of hard work, and you've got a great event three years running. Perhaps the most important components are big dreams and the willingness to see them through. Event orga-nizer, Brenda Walls, seemed amazed at how much has been accomplished by her team, consisting of husband Chuck, and friends, Kevin, Brian, and Denise Hurd. Walls shared, "We all just have the drive to help people. We've been work-ing on this year's event for nine months, and we've been fundraising during that time as well to cover all expenses so that all funds raised during the show will go to the Petty Family Founda-tion. We've already raised $11,000, and we can't accept another vendor request because, with 100 vendors coming, we just can't squeeze another one in. Of course, exhibitors are still encouraged to come and additional sponsors would be great."
Exhibitors can register on the day of the
event for $20 in a variety of classes ofRichard Petty to Appear at Ridgely Car Fest
by Rich Wareld cars, trucks, and mo torcycles. All years, makes, and models are welcome. ere will be over 100 trophies, including some very unique trophies for specic classes. e rst100 cars or motorcycles to show up the
morning of the show will receive a dash plaque and all entries receive a goody bag. In addition, one lucky registered entrant will win $500 in a rae! ere are ve levels of sponsorship.CRAFT SHOW
