The airline continues to simplify the eet for greater operational efciency and operate aircraft which are highly fuel efcient and with increased capacity and the best conguration for customers and cargo.

In the last 18 months, Air New Zealand

has taken signicant steps to grow the eet with additional fuel efcient aircraft. In June 2014, Air New Zealand announced the purchase of 13 new

Airbus A320/A321NEO aircraft to

refresh its international narrow body eet and additional A320s to grow its domestic operation.

In December 2014, Air New Zealand

announced plans to take delivery of two additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. These two additional aircraft are expected to be delivered in late 2017 and the latter half of 2018 and will take the total number of Dreamliners in the eet to 12. Air New Zealand has another six Boeing 787-9 purchase options available.

In November 2015, Air New Zealand

announced the purchase of 15 new

ATR72-600 aircraft to operate its

regional services. Four of the new aircraft will allow for further growth on regional Air New Zealand routes while 11 will replace the airline"s

ATR72-500 eet.
