Applicability: Model PC-21 aeroplanes, Manufacturers Serial Numbers (MSN) 101 through MSN 313. Definitions: For the purpose of this AD, the following defintions apply: The applicable Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) Temporary Revision (TR):Pilatus Aircraft PC-21 AFM TR number: 15-TR-185
Reason: An occurrence was reported where an overpressure at the face mask of the On-Board Oxygen-Generating System on certain PC-21 aeroplanes in operation was detected. This condition, if not corrected, could result in a sudden pressure increase making it difficult or impossible to breath and may prevent the delivery of emergency oxygen. This condition can lead to higher workload and, if occurring at high altitude, exposes the aircrew to the risk of hypoxia. To address this potential unsafe condition, Pilatus issued the AFM TR to introduce a new procedure in Section 3 of the AFM and describes how to deal with an oxygen overpressure at the oxygen mask. For the reason described above, this AD requires amendment of the applicable AFM by incorporating the applicable AFM TR and operating the aeroplane accordingly. This AD is revised to clarify based on which documentation the accom- plishment of this AD has to be done. The generic (global) documentation was approved by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation of Switzerland. The approved content has been transferred by the type certification holder to the customized versions of the applicable AFM TRs.Lufttüchtigkeitsanweisung (LTA)
