Constitutionalism is a doctrine which is concerned to limited government and set out the relationship between the citizen and the government, that a government's authority is determined by a body of laws or constitution.
Constitutionalism is the idea, often associated with the political theories of John Locke and the "founders" of the American republic, that government can and should be legally limited in its powers, and that its authority depends on its observing these limitations.
Essentially, Constitutional law is the supreme law and all other laws have to conform to the Constitutional law, containing laws concerning the government and its people. Whereas, Constitutionalism is a doctrine that means a government's authority is determined by a body of laws or constitution.
