Historical contemporary examples

The modern world history, the modern era or the modern period is the global, linear, historical-geographical approach to the time frame that comes post the classical history.
Perhaps, this view is in contrast to the non-linear or rather the organic view which was put forth by historian and philosopher Oswald Spengler.

We see modern history more as trying to understand how a whole variety of processes have come together over the past few centuries to create a present we often don’t think about as more than a few years or decades old.
For a long time, in the western world, we assumed that ‘modern’ history was our history.
