×Astrophysics terms are words or phrases that relate to the study of the physical nature and origin of celestial objects and phenomena. Some examples of astrophysics terms are:
  • Aberration of light: the phenomenon where stars or other celestial bodies appear from Earth to be slightly off from their true position.
  • Alpha Centauri: the closest star system to the Sun, consisting of three stars.
  • Black hole: a region of space where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape.
  • Catalog: a collection of tabulated scientific data about celestial objects or phenomena.
  • Data: astrophysical data not associated with any single catalog or observing program.
