Member of Campus France ForumA public agency (formally an EPA,

administered by the French Ministry of

Education, Youth and Sport , CNED was

originally established in Paris in 1939 to solve problems stemming from the fragmentation of the educational system.

With nearly 20,000 students enrolled

internationally, the CNED is the leading operator of lifelong learning in Europe and the French-speaking world. It is open to everyone, whether they live in France or abroad, whatever their nationality. It offers them the possibility to follow French elementary, secondary or higher education, as well as initial and professional training, at a distance and online.

MAIN PROGRAMMES OF STUDY

The CNED is a public operator in distance learning and provides continuity of education on behalf of the French government for students who are unable to attend classes.

In a connected and evolving world, the CNED's

mission is to ensure that everyone, whatever their situation, has the means to succeed at school and at work. - Accessibility: to enable everyone, regardless of location or situation, to receive distance education. - Success: to accompany people towards the fulfilment of their project (obtaining a diploma, finding a job, changing jobs, etc.). - Social utility: to provide effective education and training for all to ensure individual success and professional integration.

CNED-Académie numérique is committed

to working alongside the French Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and offers educational support services: - Languages and digital schooling: online facilities for learning English (English for Schools) and

German (Deutsch Für Schulen) in elementary and

primary schools. - Jules: a digital companion for middle school students to help with homework; - MaSpéMaths: an online revision platform for the mathematics speciality in Première class (Year

12 or 11th grade).

CNED-Académie numérique also offers

operational support to schools in the form of an extended teaching map, with high school specialities for the last two years, languages with low enrolment, regional languages as a third foreign language, as well as a short- term substitute service in middle schools for teacher absences of fewer than fifteen days:

Program'cours

As part of the French government's future

investment programme, the CNED signed a

14.8-million-euro financing agreement with the

Caisse des Dépôts on 19 October 2020, to be

spread over four years.

Ambitions:

- to strengthen the CNED's position in the field of distance learning and as a partner in the onsite classroom; - to achieve advanced and notable technological breakthroughs; - to enrich learning and user experience.
