  • Comment poser un Pleurx ?

    Mise en place :
    La mise en place du cathéter peut être faite en ambulatoire, sous anesthésie locale à l'aide d'une échographie ou d'une radiographie. Le cathéter est tunnelisé et fixé par le biais de deux sutures. Les fils de la cicatrice d'insertion (1) peuvent être enlevés après 10 jours.

  • Comment drainer une pleurésie ?

    Le liquide d'une pleurésie peut être difficile à ponctionner parce qu'il est épais, que la plèvre est cloisonnée en multiple logettes, c'est la cas des pleurésies purulentes, des hémothorax (sang et caillots dans la plèvre) un drainage avec un drain de gros calibre est nécessaire.

  • Comment se pratique le drainage pleural ?

    Après le nettoyage et la désinfection de la zone choisie, il faut effectuer une anesthésie locale et mettre en place un champ stérile. Le médecin pratique ensuite au bistouri une incision de 1 à 1,5 cm et dégage en écartant les tissus un passage étroit jusqu'à la plèvre.
  • Le médecin, après une désinfection de la peau et, éventuellement, une légère anesthésie locale à la xylocaïne, introduit, de manière indolore, entre les deux côtes, dans la cavité pleurale contenant le liquide ou l'air, l'aiguille ou le trocart. À l'aide d'une seringue, il recueille le contenu de la plèvre.

A pneumothorax is classically drained via the 2

nd or 3 rd intercostal space along the midclavicular line, and liquid effusion via the 6 th or 7 th intercostal space along the midaxillary line. It can sometimes be necessary to choose a different drainage point in the event of local causes (trauma, scarring, etc.) or if the effusion has become partitioned. The medical device used to carry out drainage is also important to falicitate the procedure and ensure its safety.

This technique tends to be used because of its simplicity and safety. It can be performed by the patient's bed and

allows the pleura to be drained automatically, even in the event of partitioned effusion.

It does not require extensive dissection of the intercostal space as the route prepared by the dilator is adjusted to

the diameter of the pleural catheter. This technique reduces the pain felt by the patient when placing the drain,

but also the risk of infection at the opening of the skin and unpleasant sequelae.
