    Develop the skills to function as a family physician, treating the most patients within a community, based upon the available resources and urgency of care required, while recognizing the limitations of the local facility and the resident’s training. 2.

    Build relationships and negotiate effectively with community members and leaders of community groups and organizations to achieve mutually set health goals.
    Utilize an interdisciplinary approach in performing community assessment, decision- making, planning, implementation and evaluation of population-focused care.

    Does a community-based learning programme increase awareness of prevention and health education issues?

    Conclusions The students had a positive perception of the implementation of a community-based learning programme in our University, as it appeared a pertinent strategy to raise their awareness of prevention and health education issues
