Mit astrophysics undergraduate

MIT hosts a vibrant interdisciplinary program of research and education in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
These activities span multiple departments
The Astrophysics Division of MIT Physics
The Planetary Division of MIT Earth
Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS)
And the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AeroAstro).

Students completing certain astronomy courses are eligible for an astronomy minor certificate. MIT helped to build
And currently operates (or collaborates in) multiple observatories spanning the electromagnetic and gravitational spectrum
Both around the globe and in orbit.

Admission Requirements for Graduate Study Students intending to pursue graduate work in physics should have as a background the equivalent of the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Physics from MIT.
However
Students may make up some deficiencies over the course of their graduate work.

DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS An undergraduate degree in physics provides an excellent basis not only for graduate study in physics and related elds
But also for professional work in such elds as astrophysics
Engineering and applied physics

The Physics Department offers programs leading to the degrees of Master of Science in Physics and Doctor of Philosophy
