Aviation asic

Do I need an ASIC If I'm a pilot?

Aviation Identification (AVID)

You need an ASIC if you're flight crew flying at a security controlled airport, or a pilot under the age of 18

It allows you to operate at any airport in Australia

You can apply for an ASIC through any of the ASIC issuing bodies listed on the Department of Home Affairs website

We no longer issue ASICs

What is an ASIC & MSIC?

An ASIC or MSIC is not an access card

It does not give the holder the right to access secure areas and zones without the permission from the relevant authority or facility owner or operator

ASIC or MSIC holders have an obligation to self-report convictions for all security-relevant offences within 7 days of being convicted

What is an aviation security identification card (ASIC)?

An Aviation Security Identification Card, known as an ASIC, is an identification card which is used to identify a person who has been the subject of a background check

An ASIC is required to obtain unescorted access to the secure areas of security controlled airports that have regular public transport (RPT) services
