1.Write stop on the board, using a red

pen for the st.

2.Say the consonant clusters st and sp

so that students can see that there are no vowel sounds before or between the two lettters.

5.Six spiders stop for sandwiches on the

stairs.

6.Repeat the sentence as a class

without the recording.

7.Say it loudly, slowly, quickly, whisper

it, etc.
