WALGA's Chief Executive Officer, senior staff

Works Engineering

(IPWEA) mel with the CEO and senior staff from Wes tern Power to discuss

Western Power's desi

gn and construction poliCies on local Government road and mainlenance actlvltles.

Case studies were presented

to Western Power

Itlustratrng the problems being faced

by local

Governmcnts. and recommendations were

tabled by WAlGA to address systemic issues_

Western Power acknowledged that their

behaviour is currently unacceptable, and their

CEO gave a commitment to address systemic

problems

A new forum with representatives from WALGA,

IPWEA and Western Power General Managers

has been developed as a result of the meeling, so that each identified issue may be more effic ienUy resolved. A commitment was also given to immediately look at the current Western

Power policy requiromcnts and funding regime

for undergrounding power as part of road construction and maintenance activities.
