The Cytopathology Department at the Cotman Centre receives workload from James Paget University Hospital, Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kings Lynn and General Practitioners from most of Norfolk and parts of Suffolk.
As a result it is one of the largest cytology departments in the country.
All laboratories have a high degree of automation and offer a 24 hour, 7 days a week service to support each Trust’s acute and in-patient activity.
The Norfolk and Norwich Laboratory also processes all requests from GPs in Norfolk, Waveney and parts of Suffolk – just over one million patients.

Microbiology is based in the Norwich Research Park Innovation Centre.
We have a purpose-designed laboratory offering a wide range of Bacteriology and Virology testing for all three Trusts and all GPs.
